What is CBT
The Cognitive Triad
Our psychological mind is made up of three components: thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. CBT theory suggests that by targeting maladaptive thinking patterns and changing behaviors, one can create long-lasting changes to improve emotional well-being.
What Does CBT Look Like
Goal oriented-we will develop clear and specific goals within your first few sessions.
Present oriented - while it is important to understand how thought patterns and behaviors emerge, we will focus the majority of our session time on helping to improve one’s ability to manage, cope, and thrive in the here and now.
Take Home Assignments- A main component of CBT are take home assignments to practice the skills learned during our sessions.
